Catherine Butler & CMA Artists
One week-long session
Laurel’s Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights and four afternoons at the Cleveland Museum of Art
In collaboration with the Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA), Laurel School faculty member, Catherine Butler joins teaching artists at CMA to help campers practice thinking like an artist through a variety of fun games and challenges. Campers will see the CMA collection from new perspectives with open-ended gallery activities that will encourage closer looking and critical thinking. Then they will head to the studio, where CMA will provide the resources for students to experiment, take risks and form new ideas all their own. Mondays are spent entirely at Laurel’s Lyman Campus, followed by mornings at Laurel and daily afternoon field trips to the Cleveland Museum of Art on Tuesday through Friday.
