Butler Explorers 2

Get ready for an epic adventure! Set across 150 acres of beautiful forests, winding creeks, and tranquil ponds, Laurel's Butler Campus is the perfect setting for experienced Explorers entering Second and Third Grade. This is where young adventurers dive deep into nature, discover new trails, and experience the world around them in thrilling new ways.

With specialized programming designed just for them, campers will uncover fascinating aspects of the natural world. They'll learn about local wildlife, discover diverse ecosystems, and get hands-on with nature through activities that go beyond traditional exploration. Throughout the week they'll create, engage in cooperative games, and take part in exciting camp-wide events. The highlight of each session are exciting off-campus field trips to further their exploration!

Rain or shine, the adventure never stops! The Reid Lodge is ready to host all activities during any sudden thunderstorms or high winds.
With registration limited to just 20 campers per week, this is a unique opportunity to bond with friends, embrace the wild, and make unforgettable summer memories. Just bring your curiosity, spirit of teamwork, and weather-ready gear for a summer adventure like no other!

Laurel LEGO Camp

Unleash your creativity and engineering skills at Laurel LEGO Camp, a fun-filled one-week adventure for aspiring architects, inventors and creators! Each day, campers will tackle exciting LEGO challenges designed to inspire problem-solving, teamwork and innovation. From constructing towering skyscrapers to designing intricate mazes or vehicles, every challenge will test their imaginations and critical thinking.

In addition to the challenges, campers will have dedicated free-building time to bring their own visions to life, whether it's crafting their dream house, building a robot, or creating fantastical worlds. With endless possibilities and encouragement from our supportive staff, campers will explore the limitless potential of LEGO bricks in a fun, collaborative environment.

Broadway Kids Camp Presents Laurel’s Production of "The Aristocats KIDS!"

Based on the beloved Disney animated film, and featuring a jazzy, upbeat score, Disney’s The Aristocats KIDS is a non-stop thrill ride of feline fun, complete with unbelievable twists and turns.

In the heart of Paris, a kind and eccentric millionairess wills her entire estate to Duchess, her high-society cat, and her three little kittens. Laughs and adventure ensue as the greedy, bumbling butler pulls off the ultimate catnap caper. Now it's up to the rough-and-tumble alley cat, Thomas O'Malley, and his band of swingin' jazz cats to save the day. 

This enriched program is designed for campers to promote independence and self-confidence all while making new friends and learning exciting new skills. This performance program is for theater enthusiasts who want to experience the production of a play from beginning to end. In the mornings, campers take music, dance, improv, and acting classes, and in the afternoons they rehearse their full-scale production of Aristocats, as a result it is imperative that campers attend camp every day.

Gators in the Greenhouse **NEW**

Welcome to G?a?tors in the Greenhouse on the Butler Campus?, an exciting, hands-on adventure for young nature lovers! Nestled among the campus green spaces and working greenhouses, this camp invites rising Third and Fourth Graders to explore the wonders of plants, soil, and sustainable growing.

Campers will step inside real greenhouses to discover how temperature, sunlight, and water help plants thrive. They’ll start their own mini garden, learn how to care for seedlings, and investigate the insects and critters that keep ecosystems healthy. Through fun science experiments, creative projects, and outdoor activities, campers will gain confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong appreciation for the natural world.

From planting and garden adventures to teamwork and problem-solving, G?a?tors in the Greenhouse is the perfect place for kids to dig in, get their hands dirty, and watch their hard work bloom!

DASH into Robotics! (Girls Only)

Ages: Girls entering Grades 3-5

Have you ever wanted to build and program your own robot? Now you can! Let your innovation and creativity flow as you design, build and code robots. Start off by learning the basics of coding by creating algorithms, debugging and problem solving. Program a LEGO Mindstorm robot and prepare for a battlebots-style competition. Design mazes and program the Wonder Workshop’s DASH robot to complete missions. This camp encourages you to tackle computational thinking, collaboration, coding and problem solving. And at the end of the week, you’ll take home your very own DASH robot. How cool is that?!

ARTventures **NEW**

Get ready to explore your wild side! In this hands-on art camp, nature becomes your studio and inspiration. Campers will paint, sketch, mold, and design colorful creations inspired by the woods, flowers, animals, and all the wonderful wild things around them. Campers will wander through the great outdoors collecting ideas (and maybe a few pinecones!) to spark their imaginations.

Each young artist will also create a special nature art journal—filled with doodles, discoveries, and handmade treasures—to capture their adventures and creative sparks. By the end of the week, campers will head home with a one-of-a-kind keepsake and a deeper connection to the beauty of the natural world.

At Laurel’s Gator Express Camp, kids will discover their creative voice through movement, music, visual arts, and performance, while learning to collaborate and express themselves with confidence. Along the way, they’ll experience some of Cleveland’s most inspiring cultural treasures, from museums and theaters to local artists and community spaces. This unique blend of hands-on workshops and cultural exploration sparks imagination, builds skills, and connects campers to the vibrant artistic spirit of Northeast Ohio.

Gator Made **NEW**

Gator Made is the perfect camp for creative minds who love to make things with their hands! Campers will explore the world of sewing and crafting as they learn the basics of hand stitching, try their skills on sewing machines, and dive into fun DIY projects. From simple fabric creations to one-of-a-kind handmade crafts, campers will build confidence, develop new skills, and bring home projects they’re proud of. 

Whether they’re sewing, designing, or crafting something totally unique, every day offers a chance to imagine, create, and discover what it means to be truly Gator Made!

Laurel's School for Witchcraft and Wizardry

Ages: Girls & boys entering Grades 3-6

Calling all witches and wizards! Join us for a magical week of potion-making, spell-casting, Quidditch playing, and more. Campers can expect a full week of wizardly excitement, including—but not limited to—Harry Potter-themed crafts, scavenger hunts, read-alongs, writing activities, and trivia.

In order to accommodate other campers, if your camper did this camp last year, please do not enroll them this year. Previous campers who register will be unenrolled to make room for new campers. 

Butler Young Adventurers 1

Girls with Books & Bikes: Exciting Adventures for the Brain & Body!

Join us for an exciting girls-only adventure at this one-week camp! Sign up for one or two sessions and enjoy a perfect blend of activity and creativity. Each day, campers will embark on fun biking adventures through scenic Shaker Heights near Laurel’s Lyman Campus. Afternoons will feature engaging book club discussions led by two Laurel School faculty members, exploring a group-chosen book, as well as personalized support for individual or summer reading books.

What to bring: Campers must bring their own bike and helmet and should be comfortable riding. Bikes will be securely stored at Lyman Campus for the week.

Broadway Kids Camp Presents Laurel’s Production of "Shrek the Musical KIDS"

It's a "big bright beautiful world" as everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek KIDS is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.

Get Organized, Gator! Summer work got you down? Pack it up and head to camp! This week-long camp will provide students opportunities to fine tune their executive functioning skills and get ready for the upcoming school year. We'll work with students to develop the strategies and habits necessary to improve their organization, planning, time management, attention regulation, and overall metacognition. We'll use examples from daily life as well as academic domains in their assigned summer work. Between lessons, campers will play games, get active in and around the Lyman Campus, enjoy some special cold summer treats all while reconnecting with old friends and making new ones.
