Do you wish you'd been born in the past? Do you daydream about being a pioneer on the prairie, a Revolutionary War patriot, or a World War 2 era girl on the homefront? Do you love hands-on crafts, historical cooking and sewing, and designing doll-sized accessories?  If this sounds like the perfect way to spend a summer day, then All Dolled Up camp is for you! Over two weeks, we will read books from the American Girl series and find ways to bring history to life. Be prepared to learn, create, and most importantly, have fun! Bring your favorite doll and your curiosity to this fantastic camp!  **In order to accommodate as many campers as possible, campers are limited to one session of All Dolled Up camp. If a camper is enrolled in more than one session, they will be removed for them the session with the bigger waitlist and refunded.

Girls Soccer Camp *NEW*

She shoots, she scores, GOAL! This first-class soccer camp is designed for players of all levels who want to learn and improve their fundamental soccer skills in a fun and encouraging environment. Throughout the week, campers will focus on enhancing individual skills, build team tactics and learn intricacies of the game. This camp is led by Laurel soccer coach, Emma Daniel, who will be assisted by current Laurel varsity soccer players.

Medieval Marvels Camp *NEW*

Queens! Horses! Knights! Castles! Take a step back to the Medieval Times where knights honed their skills by jousting and lords and princes lived in castles. We will spent our days reading, building and creating with a focus on the Medieval Era. This one-week camp is sure to be a memorable one this summer!

Calling all witches and wizards! Join us for a magical week of potion-making, spell-casting, Quidditch playing, and more. Campers can expect a full week of wizardly excitement, including--but not limited to--Harry Potter-themed crafts, scavenger hunts, read-alongs, writing activities, and trivia.

Broadway Kids Camp Presents Laurel's Production of Willy Wonka Kids!

Grab your golden ticket and join us on this magical journey through Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. In this scrumdiddlyumptious musical, Willy Wonka Kids, performers will work as a group to put together a full production while learning acting, singing and dancing through fun theater games. At Broadway Kids Camp, rising Second - Seventh Graders are offered a structured opportunity for growth. This enriched program is designed for campers to promote independence and self-confidence all while making new friends and learning exciting new skills.This performance program is for theater enthusiasts who want to experience the production of a play from beginning to end. In the mornings, campers take music, dance, improv, and acting classes, and in the afternoons they rehearse their full-scale production of Willy Wonka Kids, as a result it is imperative that campers attend camp every day. Exploration abounds on our 150-acre Butler Campus complete with wooded trails, ponds and creeks. Each week will be packed full of fun and imaginative activities revolving around weekly themes designed to foster curiosity and collaboration through experiments, field trips, games, crafts, creek-walking, as well as low-elements on the Project Adventure Ropes Course!

Dash into Robotics!

Ages: Girls entering Grades 3-5
Format: One one-week session

Have you ever wanted to build and program your own robot?  Now you can! Let your innovation and creativity flow as you design, build and code robots. Start off by learning the basics of coding by creating algorithms, debugging and problem solving. Program a LEGO Mindstorm robot and prepare for a battlebots style competition. Design mazes and program the Wonder Workshop’s DASH robot to complete missions. This camp encourages you to tackle computational thinking, collaboration, coding and problem solving. And at the end of the week, you’ll take home your very own dash robot. How cool is that?!

Sewing and Sweets

Ages:  Girls & boys entering Grades 4-6
Format: One two-week session

Calling all campers interested in learning the basics of sewing and baking! This fun-filled camp will introduce campers to the ins and outs of how to sew on a sewing machine (machines provided) as well as basic baking skills. The mornings will be spent working on the sewing projects campers can use in their everyday lives. In the afternoons, our very own Chef Megan Cabatingan will be on hand to teach basic baking skills while creating edible delights that every camper will enjoy.

Girls with Books & Bikes: Exciting Adventures for the Brain & Body!

Ages: Girls entering Grades 4-6
Format: One two-week session
Location: Laurel’s Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights

In this exciting girls-only, two-week camp campers will exercise their brains and bodies! Girls will spend part of their day on biking adventures through Shaker Heights near Laurel’s Lyman Campus. Days will be rounded out by two Laurel School faculty members leading girls in book club discussions of a book chosen by the group, as well as providing support to girls reading individually selected books or summer reading books.

*Campers must bring their own bike and helmet, and be comfortable riding a bike. Bikes will be stored at Lyman Campus for the duration of camp.

Exploring Cleveland Architecture *NEW*

Ages: Girls & Boys entering Grades 4-6
Format: One one-week session

Cleveland's buildings and landscapes tell the story of its rich history. Join us for this one-week adventure exploring different parts of Cleveland and the eastern suburbs with a focus on the differing features that make up each area. Campers will take advantage of public transportation and learn how to navigate around Cleveland as well as explore locally on their own two feet. The camp is sure to be an eye-opening experience for all campers.

Start Strong: Summer Work and Strategies to Prepare for the Year Ahead

Ages:  Girls entering Grades 4-10
Format: One one-week session
Location: Laurel’s Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights

Get Organized, Gator!  Summer work got you down? Pack it up and head to camp! This week-long camp will provide students opportunities to fine tune their executive functioning skills and get ready for the upcoming school year. We'll work with students to develop the strategies and habits necessary to improve their organization, planning, time management, attention regulation, and overall metacognition. We'll use examples from daily life as well as academic domains in their assigned summer work. Between lessons, campers will play games, get active in and around the Lyman Campus, enjoy some special cold summer treats all while reconnecting with old friends and making new ones.

Adventure Camp

Ages: Girls & boys entering Grades 5-8*
Format: Two two-week sessions designed around challenging activities; campers are encouraged to sign up for multiple sessions. 
Location: Laurel’s Butler Campus in Novelty**
Session 1: June 10-June 21 (no camp June 19) - $810

Campers will explore mountain biking, rock climbing, paddle boarding, sailing and backpacking. Daily experiences will introduce new and exciting adventures on our 150-acre Butler Campus and will be enhanced by customized field trips focused on specific skills. This camp will enable pre-teens to challenge themselves individually and in group situations. Time will be spent on the 15 high- and low-rope elements offered on Laurel’s Project Adventure Ropes Course to help foster creative problem solving, promote leadership and build self-confidence through improved communication skills and teamwork. Campers will need to come prepared with an adventurous spirit and a desire to have lots of fun!

*Campers must be comfortable riding a bike and swimming. Bicycles will be provided to all campers, for use during camp, from our Butler Bike Fleet of 80+ Giant mountain bikes. Campers will be assigned a bike at the beginning of their session, but each camper must provide her/his own helmet. If a camper would like to bring their own bicycle, they must be dropped off at the Butler Campus on the first day of the camp session and picked up on the last day of the camp session.

Girls-Only Adventure Camp & Campout

Ages: Girls entering Grades 5-8*
Format: Two one-week sessions with a Thursday night campout. 
Location: Laurel’s Butler Campus in Novelty**
Session 1 (one week): July 8-July 12 - $625
Session 2 (one week): July 15-July 19 - $625
Time: 9:00 am-4:00 pm, with a Thursday overnight

Laurel School knows girls best! Backed by research from Laurel’s Center for Research on Girls, this unique day camp experience (with one overnight) is designed so that pre-teen girls will reach outside their comfort zones, build resilience and outdoor survival skills, and embrace new challenges—individually and in group situations. Daily experiences will introduce new and exciting adventures on our 150-acre Butler Campus, which features biking and hiking trails and an exciting Project Adventure Ropes Course that fosters creative problem solving, encourages girls to use their voice and builds self-confidence through improved communication skills. Exciting field trips focused on specific skills, like rock climbing, bike riding on trails and kayaking will enhance the week and provide enough risk and challenge for girls to learn to handle a healthy amount of stress and discomfort in controlled situations. Campers should be ready to spend Thursday night in a group tent in the woods on Laurel’s breathtaking Butler Campus. Get in Gear! *NEW*

Ages: Boys and Girls entering Grades 5-8 
Format: One two-week session
Location: Laurel’s Lyman Campus in Shaker Heights
Dates: July 8-July 19 - $850
Time: 9:00 am-4:00 pm

Grab your bike and get ready for a fun filled two weeks of bike riding. We will explore local urban streets, The Cleveland Metroparks and pump tracks. Campers will spend the mornings learning the basics of bicycle maintenance as well as road safety, and the afternoons will be spent on fun biking adventures. This camp is a highly physical, fun-filled camp designed to boost confidence, resilience and growth mindset!

*Campers must bring their own bike and helmet, and be comfortable riding a bike. Bikes will be stored at Lyman Campus for the duration of camp.
